Addingham: St Peter

Church Street Addingham Ilkley
http://www.stpetersaddingham.org.uk

St. Peter's is a beautiful, ancient church in a stunning setting in Wharfedale with a beck running through its large open grounds, and views of surrounding moors on all sides. The church has a long history dating back to the 9th century when we know that Wulfhere, the Archbishop of York, fled to Addingham to take refuge from the invading Danes. The church is a peaceful place all year round but has become especially famous for its daffodils, with around 40,000 bulbs planted in the grounds. Throughout the summer (from the end of May to the end of September) homemade teas are served every Sunday afternoon from 2 pm - 5 pm. Visitors are always welcome.
